It was very nice to stay in Dar Aliane. It is in the new city but it is very close to the old Medina.
The hotel was very good. The staff was very helpful. Just before I reached the hotel, I checked the feedback on Booked.net and to be honest I was a little appalled by my choice. However, my fears were unfounded. Farah, who runs the show at Dar Aliane was extremely helpful. She along with Karima made our stay at the hotel and Fes extremely agreeable. Their choice of guides was excellent. We were shepherded around Fes by the 1st woman guide in Morocco, Ameena and in Meknes with a driver Jawahed (?), both of whom were excellent. We were invited once by the household staff to share tea and snacks, which we found very warm and lovely!
They put us up in a small room (whilst I'd booked in a bigger room), when we arrived which was extremely cramped. They could improve the breakfast spread.
Is a good hotel, the staff is very friendly and helpful. You are in a typically Moroccan atmosphere with all modern comforts
simple room, with good service on the front desk.
With very few other guests the hotel was very quiet
The room lighting was decorative but dim and heating (January) in lounges and reception was non-existent.
the staff is helpful and kindly, the rooms are nice
The staff where very friendly & helpful - especially when I was unwell -they showed concern for me & happy to help where possible. Secure hotel with gates that needed to opened by staff. Very quiet at night, Free WIFI. Loved the inner courtyard area with big couches. Breakfast average. Taxi to medina approx 9DH.
No tourist information available - maps etc.
Staff was very friendly, we had a great stay. The hotel is located near some excellent moroccon restaurants, and a 10 min taxi drive from the medina.
We couldn't get the wifi to work, but there are cybercafe's close by. The airport shuttle wasn't there to pick us up, they said there was an accident. Getting to Fez from the airport by taxi was no problem.
Comfortable, perfect, very nice riad, very good to 2-3 days stay in Fes.Nice end spacious room and the same bathroom.
The position of the hotel: 5 minutes driving from the most interesting part of the medina. Many shops and cafe were just few steps far from the hotel. The hotel is new, clean and very comfortable. Breakfast is huge ad delicious. Both forniture in the hotel and in the room is very fine.
Some troubles occurred to reach the hotel at our arrival. It is better to get there with a detailed map of the area where the Hotel is located. People in the nearby don't know the position of the Hotel and give indication for Medina.
Dar is beautiful place to stay in Fes, plentiful breakfast, 24/7 security and we got free upgrade to a Suite.
Staff was kind but a little bit to formal for my taste.
The courtyard at Dar Aliane was beautiful, as was the terrace. The breakfast was good.
The staff pressured to use guides that they provide. There was no warm water in the shower, the rooms were very small. The staff was unaccomodating - (ie. Answering questions, to have taxi to take us to train station for a train departing at 6am, to fix shower to have warm water, etc.)
We stayed for one night. The staff were very kind, spoke excellent English, and made us feel comfortable. The breakfast was probably the best we came across during our stay in Fez.
The only issue is that the hotel is outside the old city, where most tourists like to be, and one needs a taxi to reach the old, walled, city.
Easy to find. 30 minutes walking to Medina, 15 minutes to trainstation, good breakfast.
Very cold and very small number, very high prices for lunch/dinner (7x- 10x with city prices).Taxi drivers doesn't know this hotel.
